Details:
As civilians we can never know what it's like to fight a war, what it feels like to watch a friend die in battle. We've seen the images on TV and have read the accounts from embedded reporters, but what always seems lacking is the soldiers' voice and the raw emotions of the battlefield.
The new hip-hop CD "Voices From the Frontline" gives us a glimpse into that world. Through spoken word and songs, more than a dozen troop members tell us their story.
In this asap podcast, Howie Rumberg finds out how important music -- especially freestyle rap -- is in the lives of soldiers serving in Iraq and shows us how a popular stress-relieving activity became an album.
